A Bookkeeper at EMACS Electrical & Mechanical Repairs, located in Yatala (Northern end of the Gold Coast) is required. EMCS is a complete service provider for all rotating equipment specialize in electric motors, pumps and gearbox repair and overhaul. The customers are in the mining, utility (power generation and water) and industrial sectors. The company is QA accredited (ISO 9001:2008 and AS/NZS 3800-2012 ANZEx scheme) and pride ourselves on being a 24/7 one stop shop.

A Bookkeeper is required to execute all office finance functions and accounting processes for a dynamic, fast paced continually expanding business.  This is an exciting opportunity to develop your career in an autonomous role reporting to the Commercial Manager.  This is a broad role, requiring a dynamic individual to deliver accurate and timely financial information, driving business process improvements through current systems and procedures.

You are responsible for delivering all financial and accounting outcomes covering:

  • Debtors, Creditors and Payroll processes
  • Process month end journals
  • Monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  • Business KPI analysis and investigation
  • Continuous improvement of business processes
  • Documentation of all office and accounting policies and procedures

Skills and Experience

You will have a minimum of 5 years' experience operating in a similar role and have:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills when dealing with colleagues, suppliers and customers
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Demonstrate a proactive approach and results driven
  • Ability to prioritise and multi-task to meet deadlines in a structured manner
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook
  • Prior manufacturing / processing experience would be considered an advantage
